"Stein put words together like this because she liked the way they sounded. This is poetry abstracted. The content lacks meaning or narrative; it just contains the juxtaposition of words in ways that Stein thought were effective. The famous phrase, if it means anything, means that the word "rose" contains all its possible meanings and associations, so each iteration of the word "rose" could be a different meaning, or they could all contain all meanings. Ultimately it was just a repetition that sounded great to Stein. -Aaron Percefull, studied at Columbia University"
